What is Microblading?
Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery, is a manual method of enhancing the eyebrows by using a tool with ultra-fine blades to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, microblading is less invasive and semi-permanent. Microblading mimics hair strokes resulting in an incredibly natural look.
What is Microshading?
Microshading, also know as ombre brows, give the appearance of powder filled eyebrows, similar to the look achieved with makeup. Microshading lasts longer than microblading, and is the best solution to oily skin types!
What pigments do you use?
Our pigments are formulated with iron oxides which are known to be safe for cosmetic use, and absorb into the skin quickly and more effectively. The pigments are plant-based and non-toxic.
Does it hurt?
You may experience a minimal amount of pain during the procedure, but it is definitely worth it! Anesthetics are applied on the work area at the beginning and throughout the procedure to help numb the skin to minimize the pain.
How long does the procedure take?
The initial procedure takes typically 2 to 3 hours. The first half consists of the consultation, choosing eyebrow shape and color; and the second half is the actual microblading and microshading application.
How long is the recovery period?
Healing time averages between 7 to 10 days, depending on your body’s natural healing process.
Will I need a touch-up?
We highly recommend our clients come in for a touch-up 4-6 weeks after their initial procedure to enhance or fill in any areas of the brow where the pigment has not been fully retained – this is normal. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day! Microblading is always a 2 step process.
Clients who request a touch-up from a previous microblading technician may take longer if further corrections are required.
How long will they last for?
Approximately 1 to 2 years depending on client’s skin type, texture, lifestyle and oiliness. We recommend that our clients come in for an annual touch up to keep their brow color crisp and hair strokes defined.
Are there side effects?
Most clients will experience no side effects, however it is common for some people to experience minimal swelling and minimal redness. It is very common for a client to bleed minimally at the site of application and should not be a cause for concern.
Am I an ideal candidate for microblading/microshading?
Microblading and microshading are suitable for most people, however if the following conditions apply to you, we require a copy of a legitimate doctor’s note with you at your appointment. There are absolutely no exceptions to this rule.
